Ennecoisa is a long-term personal project that explores the intersection of design, code, and self-expression. Born from the concept of transformation, it evolved from paper to skin, and finally to screen - blooming in augmented reality.
Enne tattoo
In 2012, I tattooed Enne, a blank character designed to be transformed through drawing. It became more than just a tattoo: it transformed into a canvas for creativity and a symbol of self-expression.
TattooAR v0
In 2013, I developed TattooAR for my undergraduate final project: an Augmented Reality app for Android, built with Metaio. Instead of using my own tattoo, I created new blank characters as temporary tattoos, allowing others wear them and see illustrations come to life on their skin.
WWDC 2015
When I started programming, I developed an app for the WWDC 2015 Scholarship. Based on Enne’s interactive concept, the app featured brief “About Me” sections and allowed users to create Enne characters from different drawings, with the option to save them to the camera roll.
Ennecoisa v1
After my experience at the Apple Developer Academy, I merged the concepts from the WWDC app and TattooAR. I developed a new iOS app featuring multiple Enne illustrations, various skin tones, a shake-to-shuffle interaction, and Augmented Reality for both my business card and tattoo.
TattooAR v1
Also in 2016, I rebuilt the TattooAR app for iOS, designing an entirely new interface and user experience, and adding new illustrations.
Ennecoisa v2
In 2019, after the release of ARKit (Apple's native augmented reality framework), I recreated the Ennecoisa app from scratch. Along with allowing users to build their own Enne and see it in AR, the new app lets them draw directly on the character using finger on the iPhone or Apple Pencil on the iPad.
One Enne a day keeps the creativity awake
During the pandemic in 2022, while searching for ways to heal my mind, I designed a deck of themed cards to inspire daily Enne drawings.
